McCulloch 1600 PSI Electric Pressure Washer #FH160G
This is a great little electric pressure washer. It is light and easy to move around. It is pretty powerful and does a great job for light duty home use such as patios, sidewalks, decks, stripping paint etc. I would suggest this product to a friend and would purchase again if the need arose. The only drawback is that the water hose wants to coil up. I am hoping that over time it will relax. Overall this is a great value and well worth the money.
better than expected
I usually do a lot of research before I buy something especially if it's something I've never used or even seen before. On a whim, I decided I'd look into getting a pressure washer for a variety of uses around the yard and I came across this one. I did a little research into the terminology then made the purchase. While it was shipping, I developed buyers remorse thinking I'd bought something too weak for the job. I wanted to be able to wash my car like at the local car wash. So I found some information stating that that those car washes typically use 4-5 GPM, not the paltry 1.45 of this unit. I felt the PSI rating was sufficient from researching that figure but I figured I'd have to spend all day washing my car as though doing it with a spray bottle. Oh well, at least it wasn't too expensive. I thought a unit with higher GPM would've been worth the extra, but then I remembered my local water supply is pretty weak anyway. I probably barely get 1.45 GPM anyway.
So the day finallly came when the unit arrived. It was more sturdy and solid than I expected. I hooked it up to and started to douse my auto. I was impressed. It is about 75% of what I'm used to at the local car wash, which ain't bad at all. I soaped up the car with the soap dispenser and hosed it off for a nice, clean, bird-dropping-free car. I got some dirt on my hand while hooking up the hose and attempted to use the washer to get it off and it hurt so you know it's beatin' the tar out of those stains. I then used it to clean up some paint spills on my driveway and it worked great...although it did take a while, but nothing else could budge that paint, and I didn't use a whole lot of water either. I blasted wasp nests 30 feet up on the side of my house, blew away spider webs around the patio, and cleaned out some cracks in the sidewalk.
So it's a good unit on day one. I will hope that it remains a good unit for years to come.
defective wand
After using it for the first time for about 30 minutes the Wand blew off and cracked the tip off when it hit the floor. After calling for a replacement under warranty I was told it is not covered and I would have to purchase the hose, gun and Wand as one unit for $ 46.00. I just need the Wand. I am willing to purchase it but not for $ 46.00.
The unit is unseable as the locking components do not match up with replace parts on the market.
I always taught McCollugh was a quality product for the price, but I quess I was wrong.
