Product Description
Can you imagine a world without backpacks? Neither can we. Yet it wasn't long ago that they were strictly outdoor gear. One fall in the late sixties, the JanSport team heard that students were using the brand's small cross country daypacks to cross campus instead. It made sense with comfortable padded straps, and easy access front panel opening and catch resistant nylon zippers the bags were just as great for carrying books as they were for carrying gear. Seeing the potential the team made a few notebook worthy design adjustments including the addition of a durable vinyl base to improve weight capacity. Soon after, JanSport began selling the first ever campus backpacks into college bookstores around the country.

Customer Reviews
Bad design
Poorly designed backpack.
Even though the backpack is big and can handle a big load, it suffers from a design flaw. Once the backpack is loaded, it tends to lean forward. This makes the kids to slightly drag the front of the backpack on the ground causing the fabric to rip. We bought one and a month later the backpack has a 2-3 inch tear at the bottom front and 1-2 inch tear at the front pocket. It cost too much money for something that will definitely not last a year.
good
I had to get a bag w/ enough support and room for many books...(nursing program). It's held up pretty well so far w/ no problems and I have to drag this thing thru street n rocks, conrete, & brick. Its only been a month but its held up great and I get alot of compliments in it being so different and cool lookin.
Skulls? Color pattern not clear
My daughter thought the Acapulco Blue color with the "curly-que" designs was cute, but when we got the bag, the "curly-ques" in the picture turned out to be skulls(!). I went back and checked, and even on the enlarged image I would not have guessed. Fine I suppose for some, but my daughter was disappointed (and I'm out 2-way shipping charges!!).
