Product Description

KAT TRACKING THROUGH PARIS is a travel guide oriented around the cultural and culinary tastes of African American travelers. It gives readers clear, concise directions on how to get to places of interest in Paris using the metro system confidently on their own without being taxi dependent and possibly avoiding any language barrier. There is a list of over 40 restaurants (soul food, African, West Indian, Antillian), African museums, Gospel brunches, jazz, reggae, hip-hop clubs and other miscellaneous sites.

Each establishment has been literally "walked out step by step" by the author, from the nearest Metro station to the front door, in an effort to take the hassle out of your Black Paris Adventure. Each place has a review and is listed with address, phone number, and hours of operation.

There is also a section that deals with some hotels in Paris showing what famous jazz musician or writer stayed there and when.

Cat posters and cat memorabillia abound in the City of Light. The feline creature is adored by many Parisians. The author tells about the significance of the cat in Paris. How supertitious fanatics set out to rid them from the city. The spirit of the cat's nine lives perservered and the cat is now accepted, respected and looked upon as a a thing of beauty by open-minded liberals. In light of the struggles the cat endured in Paris the 'Kat Tracking Through Paris' effort is to bring cohesiveness between the U.S. and France showing camaraderie by working with the hotels, restaurants and other vendors also by bringing love and leaving with fond memories. Like the Parisian cat, this Kat keeps coming back.

My own Little Tour Guide in Paris5
Before I first went to Paris in July of 2002, I tracked this book down. I was sooo glad I was able to get this book, because it was my own personal information guide. I meet some wonderful people and had some great experiences in Paris at places I would have never known to go to if it were not for Kat. I went back again in October 2002 with my trusty pocket sized tour guide. Once again, Kats directions and recommendation are right on point. Thanks Kat, for giving me life long memories. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who plans to take a trip to Paris. Make sure you check out Percy's Place and BoJangles, great food, funky fun!!!

Wonderful and Informative5
I think this book is wonderful..It gives you specifics as how to do things like take the Metro, where to say, etc. I have used this book and have met the author and taken one of her trips to Paris. Everything is accurate. You cannot get lost with this book. I highly recommend purchasing this book for your first or second trip to Paris. By using the book you will seem more like a native instead of a tourist.
