Customer Reviews
great value for the money
These things work great. They don't shift around, slide off to the side, build up ice, or fall off - all problems I've had with other types of "strap on traction assistance devices".
I've yet to slip out on these things and I've hiked wearing them thru ice, mixed ice and snow, deep wet snow and deep power snow, while on hilly sidewalks, roads, trails, and off trail in the deep woods.
I'm going with 4 stars rather than 5 only because they should but don't come shipped with spare cleats, and the cleats as delivered really should be dipped in Loctite, to better keep them in long enough to wear out - my first season I lost a total of 4 screws, but had hardly any wear on the survivors. I removed all the screws and used a drop of Loctite on each, so far this season I've lost no screws.
Beware - small pack.
Beware. Unlike the 50 packs being sold other places on Amazon at nearly the same price, these are only packs of 25 cleats.
Great Way to Standup on Ice
The Stabilicers Overshoe are a great product and being able to replace the Ice Cleats when they get worn, extends the useful life by many years. After two years of use I noticed I was slipping some. Order a new set of cleats and I'm back safely walking when I should be inside. Would be nice if they bagged them in the quantity you need for a full replacement, but in truth they don't wear evenly and 25 is enough to replace the worst studs. I did wait a little long and several were worn beyond easy removal with a wrench and had to have a grove cut in them with my Dremel tool so I could use a screw driver on them. Next time I will not wait so long.
