Amazon.com Review
Wondering how to survive the family vacation intact? Trouble-Free Travel with Children is here to save the day! From getting out the door to maneuvering theme parks to making hotel reservations to fearless flying, Vicki Lansky believes that mental preparation is the first step and recommends expecting the unexpected. The "Going by Car" section is particularly helpful, with details on car-seat safety, packing, road snacks ("Tie a bagel to the car seat with a string for a toddler. It's better than an all-day sucker"), ways to stave off backseat bickering, and what to do when the sun is in baby's eyes. Sections covering airline travel, motels, and eating out are equally helpful, and interspersed with the tips are phone numbers, Internet sites, and other resources. A small section on traveling abroad rounds out this solid, practical book that will help prevent vacations of the National Lampoon variety. --Ericka Lutz

Pretty good information
I bought this book before going on some extensive travel with my family, and I'm glad I did. There were a lot of helpful tips and suggestions for traveling with children of all ages. I didn't give it 5 stars because I had hoped for just a little more help, but it was very close to meeting my expectations.
Expected more...
.... from this book. I have a two yr old and we have travelled quite a bit and I was really expecting something that I was going to go "Wow, what a great idea". Maybe there is nothing new out there, or maybe this book tries to cover too many age groups and too many travel circumstances. But I really didnt come away with any new ideas. Guess it may be of interest to people with new babies.
