About the Author
Bill Branch, curator of herpetology at the Port Elizabeth Museum and chair of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature-African Reptile and Amphibian Group, is one of the world's top experts on the amphibians and reptiles of Southern Africa. He has written more than 150 scientific articles and four books, including Field Guide to Snakes and Other Reptiles of Southern Africa. Chris and Tilde Stuart, experts on Southern Africa's mammals, founded and operate the African-Arabian Wildlife Research Centre and are involved with research programs dealing with carnivorous mammals in Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. They have written nine books, including Field Guide to the Mammals of Southern Africa. Warwick Tarboton, writer and ornithologist, is an expert on the birds of Southern Africa and is currently president of BirdLife South Africa. He is co-author of the most popular bird field guide to the region, Birds of Southern Africa. Series Editor: Les Beletsky is a professional wildlife biologist and university zoology teacher.
