Product Description

This guide explores the geographical diversities of Lake Chad in the north, Mount Cameroon in the west, and the dense rainforests of the south. Details of getting around the country by bush-taxi, rail, car or on foot, together with accommodations from camping to mud-hut 'royal palaces', are balanced by a wealth of background information on history, geography, culture, and the environment. Cameroon offers excellent possibilities for hiking and encounters with big mammals, including large herds of elephant. Planning and preparation details for overland crossing into Cameroon from adjacent countries are provided to make this the complete guide for travelers.

Customer Reviews

just back from Cameroon1
i often have felt that guides are not up to the standard, but this is by far the WORST guidebook i've EVER bought. this is not to say that there is absolutely no practical information, but it's so scarce. it's hard to believe the author ever tried to do independant travelling himself. besides - it's so OUTDATED (usual problem in the content like Africa, but it should not be the case when using a book in Dec/Jan that claims to be published in July). there are much better ways to waste money than buying this book - try the french petit fute, or i found a bilingual book in cameroun "a practical guide ..."

Cameroon travel book4
I bought this for a friend who will be moving soon to live in Cameroon. He and his wife are adventurers and love to see and explore their world. He was thrilled with the book and felt it would give them lots of good information and ideas about seeing the country.

Very detailed information.5
The book includes very detailed information. I'm hoping it will help during a three week, independent trip through Cameroon.
