Perfect companion
Used this book almost exclusively on our 10 day sailing trip through the dalmation islands. The charter company had provided another book with similar information but this Cruising Companion provided better information and a clearer description of what to expect at each marina or anchor.
Croatia Cruising Companion
I purchased a copy of the Croatia Cruising Companion in May 2009 and liked it so much I purchased another copy and had it mailed to my cousin in Los Angeles. We are planning a sailing trip to Croatia after reading a an article claiming that the Dalmation coast is one of the best places in the world to sail. I found the Croatia Cruising Companion on Amazon and took a chance. It was well worth it. Having chartered twice in the Caribbean and sailed some in Mexico, I have three other cruising guides to compare it to and this one is very well done. It is a very good planning tool which has helped us decide where we want to spend our limited vacation time. The book containes twenty-eight pages of general information and organizes the sailing areas into eight groups. It provides everything a sailor needs to find their way amoung the many islands. It describes the specific area (inlet, bay, harbor), navigation, the berthing available and what is on shore, protection from the wind, with colorful pictures and decribes.
I haven't found anyone who has sailed in Croatia as most of the sailing charters and cruisers there seem to be from Europe, which may explain why I am the first to write a review of the book. You may also want to take a look at their blog: [...]. Lots of interesting information.
