This book rates the many waterfalls of the North Shore of Lake Superior from one to five stars. Some are definitely worth seeing, and they each have unique characteristics. Minnesota native F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote the Great Gatsby, considered by many one of the ten best American books ever written. Personally, I would rank it a little lower. The Great Gatsby is written extremely well, and it was a masterful writing achievement in its time. One of the greats.

A great man! Hubert H. Humphrey electrified the 1948 Democratic Convention with an impassioned speech calling for civil rights, maneuvered the 1964 Civil Rights Act through the U.S. Senate as the bill’s sponsor, became vice president, and narrowly lost the 1968 presidential election. Plus, he did so much more. Humphrey was the greatest Minnesota political leader and one of the greatest Americans.

Hubert Humphrey said, "The moral test of government is how it treats those who are in the dawn of life -- the children -- those who are in the twilight of life -- the elderly -- and those who are in the shadows of life -- the sick, the needy, and the handicapped." Whether or not you agree with his politics, Humphrey deserves your respect for his great stature, moral compass, and service to others.
