Customer Reviews
Happy with purchase
I've had the Y510 for almost a month. I'm happy with it; its my first laptop purchase ever. I'm using it for very basic use but the internet is fast, the screen looks great and Vista is working well so far. Just hooked up a wireless printer - the installation was quick and easy. It's a little heavier then I would have liked, touch pad has a mind of its own sometimes but that could user error. Screen does show a lot of finger prints, but just wipe with cloth Lenovo provides and its fine. So far so good.

One Tough Laptop
This is by far the best laptop I have ever owned. I bought it to replace my three year old MAC and I have never looked back. For starters, it connects to my home's wireless network without any issues. The keyboard layout is excellent and very efficient. The integrated webcam is perfect; Veriface even takes pictures of anyone trying to access your laptop while you're away. Hard drive capacity is typical for a laptop but I have added two external drives using the perfectly placed USB ports. Oh, all the ports (USB, FireWire, SVideo, etc. etc.) are all in the right place. But what's most impressive to me, and I am picky, is that the battery allows this powerhouse to run for 3 hours non stop! When I am at work, I can barely get 2.5 hours out of my Dell Latitude D630 laptop. I even tested out Lenovo's tech support by faking a drive crash and they were excellent. They didn't put me through the ringer like other tech support lines. All they asked for was for my address so that FedEx could pickup the laptop (at no cost). The rep got a huge laugh when I told him I was just testing them out for that just in case scenario. Also, a million thanks to Lenovo for pre-installing all the software needed to restore right on the hard drive. Sure, it takes up drive space but I'd rather do with 30 gigs less than have to dig through the house looking for a bunch of CDRoms in case I ever needed to restore. Good thinking Lenovo! Also, the sound that comes out of this laptop is phenomenal. The built in subwolfer and two speakers are more than I expected from a box this small and this light. Lastly, it runs quiet and it runs cool.
