A year of Adventure
This book is awesome! It maps out important holidays, events, traditions, vacations, and much over all over the world. It's great for plannig, literally, a year of adventure.
A caveat
This book is good for getting travel ideas with one big caveat: a lot of the places/events listed are extreme things (such as the Ironman Triathalon in Hawaii, the [bicycling] Race Across America, bungee jumping sites, the Gobi March, the North Pole Marathon, etc.) that are totally ludicrous for the vast majority of readers. Nice pictures, though, even if the short write-ups are frequently too brief.
Terrific book for those who need ideas for travel
This is a great book that goes chronologically over multiple destinations and activities all around the world based on the appropriate time of the year for each beginning the first week in January, and it showcases a couple of them with pictures, and a short article on each page. It even tells what "fitness/expertise level" each activity requires (with plenty of activities for those who are handicapped in some way, or are not experts at scuba, surfing, etc. The only down fall is that you are left with an empty feeling about some of the best ideas which are short-changed as little 10 line segments at the bottom of the page, but if they included full articles, and pictures about every activity the book would be twice it's size. I would not recommend this book for those looking for honeymoon destinations because it mainly focuses on interesting and adventuresome places, and not so much on romantic, or serene places.
