Don't bother with this filter
Unfortunately this filter did not work properly for us. It was pretty noisy when it did run. Later when it was quiet I just assumed that it was still running, just more efficiently. I guess it wasn't running at all. Perhaps 2 turtles were too much for it because I was constantly rinsing the sponges which were always dirty. I took it back to the store where they recommended ReptoFilter by Tetra. I wish we would've bought this one from the beginning. The Zoo Med couldn't keep up with all of the shed skin but I've only seen a few floating pieces in the water since we've had this new one.
