Ukulele
For starters, I bought this for my dad as a kind of half joking/half serious birthday gift as he has said, "I think I'm a Ukulele-playing kind of guy." It was a nice color and cute, but for the most part looks like it was put together by someone with a "make your own Ukulele" kit...you can see the glue on the inside and there is hand painting (and not very neat at that) on the fret board. Also, I thought it would be coming with some kind of cover or bag for travel and storage, but it did not come with anything else.

I guess all in all it served its purpose and it was fun to open and play around with, but I was disappointed as it didn't look like the real thing. Bottomline: if you want something just for fun, to learn or for kids to play with, this would work well; but if you're looking for something more professional and/or sturdy and high quality, take a look at other options.

Such a great gift
I know it sounds silly, but my father (a music man!) has everything! He is so hard to shop for. I grabbed this for him for christmas and he just loved it. It has a good little tone, and was good quality. The company we ordered it from was so nice as well. I was in Europe at the time, and they sent it for me and took out everything with the price...etc...and i believe they even put in a little note to tell him who it was from. All in all we've had a lot of fun with it and it was totally worth it.

really good actually
i bought one recently as a gift for a friend and i played around with it for a few days before i gave it to him. after you tune it a few times it stays in tune fairly well and plays well also. i have friends who play the uke and i listen to a lot of beirut so i know what good playing sounds like. it came with the case and everything else that i was expecting. upon finally given it to my friend i bought another for myself.
