Product Description

Abigail Walker and Jarvis Daniels are long time sweethearts headed in opposite directions. Abby, an aspiring cellist, wants out of her humble Detroit surroundings and she’s willing to shed blood, sweat and tears to make it happen. Jarvis, on the other hand, is perfectly content with life, status quo. He’s young. There’s plenty of time to become a "responsible adult." For now, he’s got everything a man could want: a roof over his head, a PlayStation and the love of a good woman.

But when Abby’s music career takes off and she moves to Chicago, Jarvis gets the boot—sort of. Abby still loves him, but his penchant for faded sweaters and meatball subs just don’t fit into her new, sophisticated world of designer gowns and concert halls. They’re in different leagues and Abby makes no qualms of reminding him of it whenever she deigns to visit.

A twist of fate, however, turns their worlds upside down, when the couple is involved in a near fatal car accident. Broken, stripped and broken again, they each stumble through a journey of healing and self-discovery as they struggle to accept the merciful hand of the only One who can help them up after a fall.

About the Author
I, Ryan Michele Phillips, was born in Chicago, IL on May 27, 1981 to a workaholic mother and an alcoholic father. (Can you spell: TRAUMA?) Thankfully they had enough sense between the two of them, not to procreate a second time. Thus, I am an only child.

I spent my formative years bouncing from one ritzy, pseudo-Christian school to another in cities including, but not limited to: Miami, FL, Greer, SC, Southfield, MI and Memphis, TN.

Notoriously indecisive, I’ve changed majors (Secondary Education, French, Journalism, English …) and transferred colleges (Hope College, Michigan State, U of Memphis …) more times than I care to remember.

Bedridden in the middle of my junior year due to complications from juvenile onset diabetes, I pilfered my mother’s company laptop and began to type away my frustrations. At 21, it was the most cathartic experience of my short-lived life. Who knew that what started out as a form of self-therapy would, a mere five months later, turn into my first novel?

Fully recovered, with a second novel in the works and bored of Memphis’ somewhat limited charms, I made the executive decision to spread my wings and leave the nest. New York, of course, was my first pick, but after four days of viewing coffin-sized real estate, I reassessed my plan and my budget and moved to Chicago. Best decision I ever made!

In January 2004, my first novel, Saving Grace, was released, and was followed shortly after, by the July 2005 release of my second novel After the Fall. My third novel – the highly anticipated sequel to Saving GraceFall From Grace, is scheduled for a mid-2006 release. And I am currently hard at work on my fourth novel, Ciao, Bella.

When I’m not roving the deep recesses of my imagination or responding to my readers’ emails, I’ve got my nose in a textbook, studying toward my M..F.A in Creative Writing.

She did it again !!5
Ryan wrote another great book! After the Fall was an excellent read. As was her first novel, it is very well-written. I learned alot reading this book.

In my opinion, the flow of the story was very different from the first novel (Saving Grace), but I think you will enjoy this book. You know a book is good when it can bring out different emotions within you. I fell in love with this authors writing style with the first book.

Ryan is an excellent writer and I look forward to more of her novels.

( Ryan you're still my favorite!!) M.S

Another Winner5
Another excellent read. I appreciate the fact that Ms. Phillips doesn't fall into the familiar plot line that a lot of Christian authors tend towards. I've read a fair amount of Christian fiction literature, and I have to say Ms. Phillips is definitely one of the more refreshingly original ones out there. The characters are believable, the kind of people you can relate to. Great read all around... I don't think I'll be the only person to lose sleep with this one. I definitely encourage everyone to check it out.

What's next?5
The interesting thing about this story is the reader literally is like a fly on the wall. You encounter two characters and their journeys in different directions, different paths and how they both cope with tragedy as well as the answer to the question of what happens after the fall? Very inspirational, very uplifting and fulfilling as I would recommend this to anyone.
