Dissenting viewpoint
I have read CATHY and followed the strip, because i read that page in the newspaper. I've found the writing to be going downhill, the artwork is still as awful as it ever was and the way Cathy gets a conflict is to manufacture it herself. If nothing is happening she decides she's too fat. Or Thinks he dog doesn't love her. Or Irving doesn't love her. Something.

If you think this strip is excellent you need to get you head out of the litterbox and look at other cartoon strips like BREWSTER ROCKET, FOX TROT, LIO and other things you can find on Amazon. This strip was dropped out of the local paper recently and no one complained.

A great cathy experience
I like some Cathy books, but this book was definitely the best of them all.

Long Time Coming!
Irving shouts "Will you marry me!?" Cathy shouts back: "Yes!" And so begins my favorite cartoon couple's hilarious journey! I have been a fan of this strip for years, and was glad to see Cathy and Irving finally walk down the aisle. Hey we've seen her go through every other kind of angst (diet, bathing suit, Mom, work), why not the angst that goes with planning a wedding and preparing for marriage? Like the other books in my collection, this one does not disappoint. Cathy Guisewite is wonderful at keeping this strip fresh and topical, which is why I will remain a fan for years to come.
