Product Description

Authors Guy Endore-Kaiser and Rodd Perry have crashed the party, and the world of cartooning will never be the same. In fact, they are arguably the freshest, most original and clever of all cartoonists out there.

Their comic strip Brevity features a smorgasbord of nerds, animals, and sporks in unusual yet relatable situations. For example:

The five-second food-dropping rule does not apply to sewer workers. The Hypnotato dares you to look into his eyes.

The combover eagle (you have to see it to believe it.)

The angry pin-the-tail-on-the-donkeys paying a nighttime visit to the birthday boy to settle a score.

Brevity has been described as "the soul of wit." Indeed, this wily wit fused with minimalist illustration has launched its popularity into the stratosphere. Brevity will be at the top of every cartoon lover's wish list.

Stoopid- not at all on the same level of funny as The Far Side1
I've had a daily Far Side calendar for many years. This last year I replaced it with Brevity. I find it completely un-funny and not at all on the same level of wittiness as The Far Side. Brevety seems to be written by a dorky 10 year old boy. I find it corny, but not funny corny. I'm giving it until the end of the year to make me at least chuckle once or twice, and even if that happens I probably won't buy it again...

Wilson and Larson have a new Heir5
After seeing this listed in my recommendations countless times, I flipped through a copy in a store and promptly ordered it from Amazon. If you miss The Far Side or were a fan of Gahan Wilson then you will feel right at home in this collection. But unlike Larson and Wilson, this comic is penned by two creators. One loves thinking up cartoons while the other can actually draw. I don't know which of the two is more twisted but they sure work well as a team.
The cover cartoon of a game of spin-the-bottle among a bunch of cats and one dog has the wonderful feature of working on more than one level. I think it was the Camel/Dromedary Peace Talks that really snared me. Once I had read that one I was completely hooked. I was only sorry that there were only two collections currently available for order. If you like cartoons that inspire laughter and not just smiles then you need to check these guys out.

Exceptionally funny5
Our newspaper pulled Brevity because "some readers didn't find it funny". What kind of reader wouldn't love this book? I just can't figure it out. We laughed ourselves to tears. I pick up the book and read one of the comics for the 10th time and it's still funny.

"Ah, Garbanzo, you are a noble bean..." Support good humor. Buy this book.
