Great book
If you are a fan of Penny Press or especially of England's Best Logic Problems, you will love this book. They are mostly British versions; not too difficult to solve. I did the entire book in about two weeks. I was very satisfied with this book, and wish there were another version available, I would definitely buy it.
Lame
Hard to trust a puzzle book when they can't get past the introduction without totally screwing up the very first puzzle in the book. Maybe the USA TODAY editor can take another look at page v.
Also, the book provides the matrices/grids used to solve the puzzles, basically dumbing the book down to first grade level. Isn't figuring out the grid half the puzzle?
Puzzle in introduction: "From the two clues given below, can you discover each [of three children's] full name and age?"
Clue 1. Miss Brown is 3 years older than Mary.
Clue 2. The child whose surname is White is 9 years old.
Solution: "Miss Brown (clue 1) cannot be Brian . . . "
My question: Who the L is Brian?
