Average customer review:Product Description
Ink Pen never runs out of insights into the seedy underbelly of cartoon character employment. Dunlap has a truly unique perspective and storytelling style about the odd world of cartooning.
From the very first frame, Ink Pen invites us to encounter the struggles of Hamhock, the talking pig who tries to make his big break into the biz. But it's a ruthless one that sees him only as a side of the other white meat. We quickly learn that rejection only makes us stronger . . . or slightly more stupid. Read and laugh as Hamhock and an array of plucky sidekicks are thrust into danger by careless superheroes and the villains they duel.

Customer Reviews
The best comic I have ever read, and that is no joke!
Ok, bad pun. But seriously, the first time I saw this comic in the newspaper I absolutly loved it! I tried to find out more about Ink Pen or the author Phil Dunlap, but there wasn't much on the internet. When I did a search on Amazon and saw this book was coming out, I just had to get it.
The humor in this book is funnier then any other I have read. It is also very unique with its distinguishing cast of characters. I guarenttee every comic in this book will make you laugh out loud!
Really clever
At first I was leery of a daily comic- they are usually so corny. But this one had me laughing out loud on th' pot.
The meta take on comics is hilarious, and the art is absolutely top notch. I hope he keeps cranking out funnies. This works for your parents as well as your edgier friends.
The pinnacle of newspaper comics
There are several things that make this comic standout:
1) The art. It's phenomenal. Marvel Comics quality.
2) The premise. An employment agency for cartoon characters. Seems a little higher-minded than a talking dog, an irascible infant or a nuclear family.
3) The writing. While most newspaper comics seem like they're written by someone who's thinks they've got something else better to do ... Dunlap's characters have personality and complexity and the humor works because we like the inhabitants.
I give it my highest rating.
