Darwyn Cooke's adaptation of the first novel from the outstanding "Parker" crime novels by Richard Stark. Some of the best crime fiction by a master of comics.

Mark Andreyko's well written book about Kate Spencer, a DA who steals weapons from impound belonging to various DC super villians and takes the law into her own hands. This book has been revived twice by DC due to fan demand. Support this worthy book.

Another by Brubaker. Catwoman was one of the consistantly entertaining Batbooks during the early 2000's thanks to Brubaker excellent writing, as well as stylized art by Darwyn Cooke and later Cameron Stewart. Better than many of the Batman books published at the time. Focused on the noir aspects of the character to great results.

Sorry, More from Brubaker (with writer Gregg Rucka this time). This highly underated series lasted only 40 issues, but was one of the best monthly comics on the market. Focuses on the Gotham Police Force and ho they deal with all the crazies when Batman is not around. Excellent.

Some of the best coloring in comics are in the two volumes published so far. Mitch Byrd encounters crime and the supernatural in 1950's Hawaii. Great retro design and cool art.

Another from Paradox Press, again, ignore the Viggo Mortenson movie which did not feature the great shock ending contained in this puply crime story from John Wagner (Batman, Judge Dredd).

One of the greatest pulp heroes has a very erratic publishing histoy in comics. The best of which are the 5 issues from the 1970s by Dennis O'Neal and Mike Kaluta. Find them. Here's hoping he returns to comics soon.
