Another great show bites the dust
For those of you looking for engaging television, this is definitely a show you should look at. Against the backdrop of rebuilding a town post-apocalypse, the show really concentrates on providing the audience with interesting, 3-D characters. It raised a lot of questions and kept your attention all the way through. Due to the nature of the story, I had no doubt this show could have continued to grow an audience and keep you entertained. Unfortunately, in this era of "reality TV", networks don't want to provide an audience with good television...They just want to make as much money as quickly as they can. Kind of sad when you realize that we're just numbers to the big networks.
I don't even have cable but I heard about the show, downloaded an episode and was hooked. Then, I downloaded the whole season...Watch this show, its great!
Show has been saved....
It appears CBS is bringing back the show as a mid-season replacement next season with 7 episodes, as well as re-running it during the summer on television and releasing the Season One DVD on September 11. This is great news. We fans just have to continue supporting the show to keep it on the air long.
It's good. Watch it. Please.
Very few shows make it back from the dark depths of cancellation, but it's no surprise that "Jericho" is one of them. It's great TV, pure and simple, with top-notch acting, writing, directing, and production.
What IS a surprise is that it was canceled in the first place, given that it is such a successfully implemented, cross-genre show. It does attempt to do a lot of things (the drama of "Lost," the thrills of "24," and the post-apocalyptic setting of "Jeremiah") but it does them all well and they all mesh perfectly. Nothing feels tacked on, so whether you're a fan of dramas, thrillers, or sci-fi you won't be disappointed with "Jericho."
