My Bible
Forget all the current New Agers spirit-speak. Shinn was one of the very first to introduce the Law of Attraction ("the secret") to the masses in the 1920s, and no one gets to the heart of the matter better than her. In fact, I've read many books who almost quote Shinn verbatim, yet never give her credit for the ideas being offered.

What's particularly wonderful about her writing is that she actually teaches you how to put the Law of Attraction into action. She believes that what we all already have is "perfect health, perfect wealth, perfect love and perfect self-expression," and if it's not manifesting in our lives, it's because we're just getting in our own way.

I also love that she focuses on one's divine purpose, meaning that if you need money and affirm that you "give thanks for [your] prosperity," you also add the words "under grace, in divine ways," as a reminder that you want the money as God intends you to have it, not because you got a big insurance settlement from, say, a car accident.

Newer books of this type focus too much on materialism and leave the spirit part out of it.

The book has a decidedly Christian bent, but there are many Eastern philosophies interspersed as well, so even if you aren't a Christian, the book will still speak to you, as well.

I can honestly say that never before has such a book changed my life. Her writing has rocked my life and my world view in general. I've bought countless copies that I've given away to friends and loved ones, so maybe that says it all right there.

Simply the Best
The most helpful book I have ever read. Buy it for all the women you know- it will change your life.

My New Favorite Book
After reading about it in Mama Gena's School of Womanly Arts I was intrigued...I liked The Secret, but I love this book! And ever since I started reading it and playing the game of life properly things have been going really well for me...just like Florence Shinn said they would!
