| There is a natural congruence between Unitarian Universalism and Transcendentalism. Indeed, contemporary Unitarian Universalism has been strongly influenced by Transcendentalist views. At the same time, large numbers of men and women, themselves inspired by Emerson and Thoreau, have found a religious home in Unitarian Universalist churches. As UU minister Barry Andrews says, "Our Transcendentalist heritage is a source of a uniquely and authentically Unitarian Universalist spirituality." | ||
