303rd continues to rock on
The second season of The Unit continues to impress while unfortunately suffering from many of the same flaws that hurt the first season. Overall, the acting is better than the writing. Dialogue isn't so much a problem as consistent plotting; the interactions of the wives back home continues to be a weak aspect of the show, as it is essentially a "desperate housewives-lite." Some might say that this aspect of military life is as significant as the combat in the field, and they'd be undoubtedly correct. However, in the show, it comes across as a poor attempt to lure in a female viewing base.
The second major issue for the show is that California doubles for every foreign location in the show, and doesn't do a very good job of it. In fact, the re-use of the same exterior's is even more visible in this season. It never fully ruins the show, but does serve as a constant reminder of the show's budget limitations.
Still, the show is highly entertaining, and with more gun battles, more interesting episode premises, and actors that have completely inhabited their roles. Overall, a great show that stays great.
One of the best tv series
This is the best special forces series i have seen and the second season is even better than the first one.
LIGHTNING DOES STRIKE TWICE FOR CBS~~~~~
So glad CBS is releasing season two before the third season starts. I got my friend hooked on this show and she really wanted to see season two. The Unit is still going strong and can't wait for the third season. The actors aren't bad too look at either. Fast enjoyable hour. Enjoy
