Cooking Utensils
Cooking with a solar cooker works best with dark metal pots insulated using the greenhouse effect. Achieve the greenhouse effect with a glass lid or an oven bag. Place your cooker on a small table for ease of use.

Suprisingly, the lenses and parabolic mirrors are not recommended for these reasons: (1) more expensive; (2) require frequent focusing; (3) might get too hot too fast so that hotspots would burn food; (4) require close attention to cooking so food doesn't burn.

The solar cookers that use aluminum-coated, flatter surfaces require longer cooking times, but less attention to the process. You simply set the cooker and pot with lid or in bag and a shallow layer of food in full sun for several hours and then serve it up.
