Customer Reviews
No fun...
This game is boring. What a waste of money. It's a brain training game, not as the game suggests a free play of classic word games. It has a weird vibe to it also, not very user friendly. Wish I hadn't rushed to buy it!
Some fun, but not worth the price...much better word games out there!
The title is misleading, because even though I do like some of the mini-games, it's not at all what I expected. The mini-games are of the "brain training" variety, which I do enjoy. I am a word game nut, though; so brain-training word games are right up my alley.
I rented it from Gamefly, which I would suggest rather than buying. It's mildly fun, but should be a $15 game, not almost $30. If the price went down, I would consider buying.
For a better "vocab builder" with better games (though not as many as with this game) and better gameplay overall (more user-friendly) I would suggest My Word Coach, also from Ubisoft. Some anagram type games, but more matching definitions to words and spelling (presented in a fun way). Also has a great glossary.
For a better word game overall, I would highly suggest my favorite word game of all time, Word Jong. You can play it for 10 minutes or an hour and it is lots of fun. Not much of a vocab builder as you don't get definitions, but great fun for people who like Scrabble and Mah Jong (like me!).
This game reminded me more of Jumble Madness, although I actually liked this one much more than Jumble Madness. I actually traded that one in. Definitely too many anagrams (although that is the point!) and the Jumble Jong is inferior to Word Jong.
it's a brain word test game
I was expecting a "game" game like USA Puzzle Craze or Crosswords DS which I love. It is a test game like the popular brain games that are so popular but I prefer to ave word games like anagrams, crosswords, anacrostics, etc. there are some games like that , though. Hangman-but if you get 5 wrong letters you are done so it is quick and frustrating. Haven't tried all the games yet, but not what I expected so far and haven't felt inspired to keep playing based on my initial playing time. If I can't put a game down, it's a good game. Put this down right away. BUT if you like test with a professor explaining the benefits of a good vocabulary, you will like this.
