You don't need to read for this game. Lots of activities for younger boys to do. There are other games in this series that are also good.

There are other versions other than garden. Lots of mini games. Requires some reading. Probably better for ages 6 and up but if you want to help a younger child get the hang of it they will learn where things are eventually and they can play some of the simpler mini games.

You can't go wrong with any of the Nintendog games. Great for all ages. Cute virtual puppies. There are multiple versions with different dog breeds, so ask your child which dog breed they like best. Even small children can pet the dog and do some of the simpler interactions.

A cute, girly version of the mario platformer. Should be easier than other platformers, so would be good for younger girls (or boys!) who aren't quite ready for mario or sonic.

Another fun kirby platformer, but different in that you use the stylus to control him.

A wonderful puzzle game.

An amazing racing game with Nintendo characters. You can race people online too.

This was one of my favorite games, and now it has extra content. Might be too hard for really young gamers, but 5+ can at least play some of it.

If your kid likes LEGO, Batman, or action games in general, they'll love this. The other versions (Star Wars the Complete Saga and Indiana Jones) are also great. Make sure to NOT get Star Wars II the Original Trilogy because it was put together by another company and it pales in comparison to the Complete Saga.

If your kid likes the TV series, this would be a good choice.

This series is very popular. The other games are pretty good too.

I love Zelda, it is a great game. Probably better for older kids since it can be challenging (7+).
