Customer Reviews

Absolutely Stunning5
I can't believe no one's written a review for this album. That leads me to believe that it's has been heard by few, which boggles my mind because Domestic Science is an awe-inspiring collection of songs. Okay, brief disclaimers... A. I'm at work right now, so I don't have time to do a super-duper-in-depth review... B. I'm no professional music critic... as far as I'm concerned, there are three basic genres of music... Good, Mediocre, Bad and everything in between. It just so happens that Domestic Science belongs in the "Great" or "Outstanding" genre. Albums like Domestic Science make life better.

It's hard to pick "stand-outs" on such a solid album, but I'd say that the vocal tracks are exceedingly beautiful (State of Mind, Closer to You, Fluorescent Blue, and B:Mine). Those songs are so nice, they nearly brought tears to my eyes (not literally, but you know what I mean). The instrumental tracks are equally sensational, however Knuckle Shuffle and Groove Jumping are "good" but they aren't "great" like the other songs on the album. Among the instrumentals, 37,000 Ft. is the almighty champion. This song is absolutely transcendent.

I'm not really sure how one would categorize Domestic Science or describe it's music but Amazon tags it as "electronica" and "dance" and those two descriptors definitely fail to capture the essence of this music. Personally I hate categorizing music, but I'd describe this as contemporary "chill" music done right. Domestic Science is extremely hard to find, which is a shame because it's absolutely gorgeous. As I'm writing this review, I see that there's a seller offering this CD for $100.00. This is definitely one of those "go buy it NOW" albums but whether or not you want to spend $100.00 depends on your personal finances (obviously).
