Too many problems
I bought this because it claimed to be compatible with both Rockband and Guitar Hero. For Guitar Hero, I found that the whammy bar didn't work which made the guitar very difficult to use battle mode, as one of the "attacks" requires rapped whammy usage to clear. The tilt sensor used to trigger overdrive for both Rockband and Guitar hero never functioned. I don't know if those problems were due to a defect in the guitar controller that I received or is a general problem, but in general I found the controller to be of questionable quality, for instance the strum bar is quite loose, when compared to either the Guitar Hero or the Rockband OEM controllers.
Lower Quality, but works with GH and RB
I bought this guitar to have as a spare for my Wii when friends come over to play. Its not nearly the same quality as the guitar for Guitar Hero World Tour. The buttons on the fret feel loose and make clicks when you press them. The strum bar also feels loose. There is no large "star power" button on the guitar so if you are used to triggering it or overdrive from Rock Band through the button, start learning to tilt the guitar. The strap was a bit short for me, but I am a larger woman, as well as tall, so I will be either swapping straps from my GH guitar when I use this one or buying an extra strap.
But, the guitar works with all the games as advertised, so that's nice. However, if you play one game more than another, I'd suggest just buying their official guitar for the better quality.
DEFECTIVE
I received a defective guitar that would not sync with Guitar Hero. The manufacturer's customer service was of no help. I had Amazon send a replacement one, and of course it was defective as well. The whammy bar did not work at all. And no instructions were included with either guitar. I'm not bothering to order a third. Save your money, don't buy.
