Middle Aged Mom loves this!
I just got the Nintendo DS Lite Green Spring bundle for my birthday. My son has had a DS for several years but he rarely lets me play it. I have been wanting one of my own for a while, specifically for the puzzle and mystery type games. First, I have to say, that the Spring Green is so much nicer in person than the pictures here on line. I am so glad I waited to get this color. The case that comes with it is very nice. Fits in my purse and looks very "adult." It is a very classy bundle. I am just starting to "play" with the Personal Trainer cooking that comes with it. I don't think I would have bought this item on its own. But the price was right for the bundle and was a very good deal. I have to say, that I actually like the cooking "game." I am very pleased it came with the bundle.
I also received several puzzle games and Professor Layton and the Curious Village. Again, I am a middle aged mother and I am so pleased to finally have one of my own! They have so many games that are not just for kids! I don't have to fight over Brain Age anymore! If you are thinking of getting one, don't wait. Get this one before they run out! This color is hands down the best!
Shine On You Crazy DS Lite
Ever since Nintendo came out with the Nintendo DS back in 2004, they really not only changed the way we play video games, but also redefined what the way they appeal to consumers, and not just men, but also women and seniors. A couple of years later, they re-issued the DS as the Nintendo DS Lite, which proved to sell even stronger than before, and that is still proof of the pudding. Even with Sony's PSP and Playstation 3 and Microsoft with the Xbox 360, the sales have gotten even stronger. They've made all different styles and colors to compliment the DS Lite for any gamer young and old, and now Nintendo is set to unveil there latest DS Lite, with a polish that is stearling.
The new Nintendo DS Lite in a gleaming Metallic Silver, brings in the sleak and designer finish to the classic handheld that Nintendo has delivered for the past several years, to appeal to gamers young and old. The system comes with all the standards you'd expect from Nintendo to shine, including a strong battery life which can last for nearly 19 hours, a stylus pen that is shown in a sleak and stylish silver look, and the ability to play all your favorite Nintendo DS titles from the original DS era, and now. You can play classics like New Super Mario Brothers, Brain Age and Big Brain Academy, as well as recent favorites like Crosswords DS and Guitar Hero: On Tour. Not only that, if you have a Game Boy Advance, and you're considering to throw it away, the DS Lite can play those classic titles like Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Brothers 3. You also can play against other gamers by battling with them at home, on the go, or through Nintendo's Wi-Fi connection by using a wireless router. With that, you can play games like Mario Kart DS, and Clubhouse Games, against anyone all around the world.
All in all, while many gamers might be interested in the more addictive game systems like the Playstation 3, or the Xbox 360, which its arcade edition just dropped to nearly $200, or if you are still having a hard time trying to find the Nintendo Wii, the Nintendo DS Lite: Metallic Silver is a great video game system to buy for your buck.

One of the best purchases I've ever made
I was talked into buying a Nintendo DS Lite by my best friend, who got one just before I did.
I got my DS in 2007, and I'm so glad I did, it's seriously one of the best things I've ever spent money on. I just LOVE this thing!
I'm a gamer at heart, but I'd never owned a handheld console - I had a PS2 and played games on my PC all the time, and decided I wanted to get a handheld to play games when I was away from my house.
The ice blue colour of the DS looks awesome (although I've now covered mine in a skin), visually it's a gorgeous little item.
Using the DS is easy, except that sometimes I hit the on/off button by mistake when playing a game, which is very irritating. It's right next to where my right hand is. Apart from that, all the buttons are in good places.
I love the touch screen, it's such an innovative idea. My screen does get smudgy though and I find it hard to clean sometimes.
The amount of games for the DS is astounding, I own around 30 games for it, but there's still many more. My favourite games include the Pokemon series, the Phoenix Wright series and all adventure/mystery games.
The styluses are cool, except that I've managed to break a couple of them. I always break the top bit of it off, so it won't stay in the slot in the side of the DS, if I turn my DS upside down, it would fall out.
I like that you can play GBA games on the DS, considering I never owned a GBA.
I also love that you can customise the DS for your own preferences, my start-up screen and options screens are purple themed, and it asks you for your birthday as well.
I won't keep rambling due to the great amount of reviews on the DS on here, but it's portable, loads of fun and a nicely made product. Good on you Nintendo for making what is the best handheld console ever.
