One of the Great Unknown Classics
"With Candido" is probably Billy Taylor's most accessible and interesting recording. The addition of Candido's Latin percussion seems to bring some needed spark and intensity to the proceedings, besides being a perfect counterpoint to Taylor's otherwise "cool" technique. The result: an unknown masterpiece of Latin jazz.
