The classic resurfaces
Are you kidding? Don't bother reading my opinions; just place your order and let the magic happen. Imagine Cal Tjader doing an exotica album without Lalo poking him to do it. That's "Jungle Fantastique." I love everything Cal ever produced, but Bobby did something amazing with this effort. And it is simply fantastic. Enjoy.

The great Bobby Montez Combo
What a thrill to finally discover Bobby Montez on CD. I agree with SR. Beltran, every one of the Montez LPs ought to be available on CD. The album brings back many nights sitting "vibes-side" at the Bobby Montez shows at the tiny M Club in east Los Angeles in the 1960s. Cal Tjader was the best known latin jazz combo featuring Vibes but the Montez organization was the real deal; true jazz musica con sabor latino.It was a thrill to see these guys live. In addition to terrific latin jazz these guys exploded with joy that washed over their audiences. This CD captures a lot of that experience.If you love true latin jazz you must have Montez in your collection. VIVA Montez! More CDs please.

Bobby Montez Where Are You
This is one of Mr. Montez's many enjoyable CD's. The music, arrangements, and hearing the musicians "get with it" during the recording is great. It was my privelege to have Mr. Montez play for my wedding and people still talk about it now after many years. Why his other music hasn't been transferred to CD is beyond me. Whomever makes the decisions to put artists on cd should have ALL of Mr. Montez's LP's on cd!! My Lp's are to scratched to really enjoy!!
