New twist on Latin Jazz4
Mouvement is cutting edge Latin Jazz - mixed up with electronica and other unexpected sounds. I though it was refreshing because it combines elements not usually found together and it's very well performed.

DEEP Afro-Carribean jazz!5
This is about as far as you can imagine from your Mom's old boogaloo records (not that there's anything WRONG with her old boogaloo records....).

Working with a truly intercontinental crew of musicians (mostly unfamiliar even to serious afficionados
of Latin jazz in the US) Schunke has delved further into the largely un-charted waters between post-bop jazz and Afro-Carribean music, with a slightly cerebral, European flavor added, ala ECM in the 70's and 80's. There are few other folks world-wide (David Sanchez, Jerry Gonzalez, Kip Hanrahan, John Santos, Bobby Matos, and Tolu come to mind) exploring the same part of the map, and this, even more than Schunke's first CD, is worth DEEP listening, on a GOOD system, if you are in the least bit interested in the genre.

Just Perfect5
This second CD of Sebastian Schunke is something I have never heard before in the latin jazz. It is an incredible beautiful synthesis between some Miles Davis from the 60, some cool european music and hip latin rhythms - wow a big orchestral sound with nice string section. An amazing rhythm section Felipe Cabrera former basist of Gonzalo Rubalcaba plays acoustic bass - sounds brilliant, Lukmil Herrera from cuba creates a unique atmosphere sounds like a latin Jack de Johnette and a great swedish guitar player Ander Nilsson - congratulation, Sebastian Schunke for very good compositions and an energetic recording !!
