Product Description
Numark has created a revolutionary portable turntable that enables you to convert your vinyl to WAV or MP3. This rugged, portable turntable can run on either wall or battery power, comes with a cover with integrated carry-handle, and has an internal speaker for total mobility. Using the included recording software, no special drivers are needed to connect PT-01USB to any Mac or PC via USB and transfer music from vinyl to hard disk. EZ Vinyl Converter 2 (PC) and EZ Audio Converter (Mac) software are included to make recording and importing audio simple. EZ Vinyl Converter 2 imports your songs directly into your iTunes library, automatically separating tracks, and with a free download of Gracenote® MusicID, it can even automatically name your tracks. PT-01USB also comes with Audacity software for editing your tracks. Audacity also helps reduce clicks, pops, and other noises from your recordings to restore the full quality of your vinyl. PT-01USB has an 1/8" line input so you can connect other sound sources such as tape decks and convert them to digital files too! RCA line outputs enable connection to your DJ system or home stereo so you can use PT-01USB as a standard record-player. In addition to the internal speaker and RCA outputs, you can also listen with headphones. With 33, 45, and 78 RPM speeds, PT-01USB works with your entire record collection. There's even a ±10% pitch control to help you optimize your tracks for whatever need you have. Advanced vinyl-to-digital conversion that's ready to roll when and where you are – PT-01USB.

Customer Reviews
Great turntable, software was extra work
I ordered this turntable to transfer recordings from my old 78 records to my computer. It came with a software CD, which [as with any USB turntable] transfers the files from the turntable to the computer and lets you clean up the 'noise.' The CD that came with the turntable did not have the right software for my Mac, but I downloaded the recommended - and free - 'Audacity' software from audacity.sourceforge.net. along with a PDF version of the user manual. If you use a PC rather than a Mac you should not have this problem. Being a novice, it took me a few hours of reading and experimenting to get things working the way I wanted, but I'm completely satisfied with the result. A great USB turntable at a great price.
Very happy with this Turntable
I am very very happy with this turn table so far. I got it today and it was ready to go right out of the box.
Great sound from it's internal speaker and I love how portable the unit is.
So far I've recorded about three albums onto my computer and the sound quality is very good - even on records quite scratched and warped with age.
I am a Mac user and the correct software was NOT bundled with the turntable. I had to go to Numark's website to download the right software, but am happy with the result. The noise reduction in audacity requires some tinkering but you can get good noise reduction results without sacrificing too much of the original audio of your recordings.
I'm very happy with my new toy and will be recording records onto my computer and playing records on this little portable wonder for years to come.
PT-01 USB, landfill material
This is my second posting of this review. I believe Amazon deleted my first review for reasons beyond me. However, I bought the PT-01 usb to archive my vast vinyl collection. It worked great at first, but then the pitch began to fluctuate, which is very noticeable when sustained chords are played in a song. This is also disastrous for any djs archiving their vinyl, because the bpm's must stay constant for mixing. I took my unit in for repair and they replaced the belt drive. It worked great after that....for about two months and then the same thing happened. It appears that the belts being supplied for these turntables are of inferior quality and wear with age. Unacceptable. The other features on this unit are useless. I don't really see a need for a built-in speaker, nor battery-powered capabilities. I don't imagine anyone will be taking these to the beach. That said, save your money until a better usb turntable comes out on the market.
