From one bin to a family still growing. It all begins with one bin in 1939. Today, the pedal bin is produced in six sizes and has been supplemented by a toilet brush and a soap dispenser. Vipp has also introduced a towel collection made from 35modal fibres and 65cotton. The modal fibres ensure maximum absorption and short drying time, while the cotton adds strength and softness. To complete the bathroom furnishings, Vipp offers an Accessories range, designed by the Vipp Design Lab. The series consists of a towel bar, a toilet roll holder, hooks and a shelf. For the office or the home office, Vipp offers the office bin, which comes in two sizes. It is originally designed by Vipp’s founder, Holger Nielsen, in 1985, but was first put into production before 2007.

Hand-made in Denmark. Production of Vipp pedal bins still takes place in Denmark. This is where the components are manufactured, and where the Vipp bins are handassembled by skilled craftsmen. A Vipp bin consists of up to 42 components, and a skilled worker can assemble six bins per hour.

Charity in Paris, Vipp cooperates with many well-known international designers who decorate the bins for charity. In 2005 Vipp hosts its first charity event at the fashionable lifestyle store Silvera in Paris where 30 guest designers, including Christian Lacroix, Philippe Starck and Chantal Thomass all help raise money for Handicap International.

Charity in London, In 2006 Vipp and The Conran Shop hosts an auction in aid of the charity organisation Oxfam. Going under the hammer are Vipp bins decorated by Ron Arad, Sir Terence Conran, Nicole Farhi, Karim Rashid just to name a few.

Vipp at the Louvre, Paris, In 2006 Vipp is invited to exhibit at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. Chilean designer Mauricio Clavero is invited to stage a challenging art experience. He creates 36 unique Vipp bins and soap dispensers covered in Swarowski crystals, Sicis mosaics and lightning by Ambiance Lumière. The exhibition subsequently tours major European cities.
