Product Description
Our best-selling Highland Beef Haggis. Rich in flavor, texture and tradition. We recommend the traditional combination of haggis with "bashed neeps and tatties" - that is, turnips and potatoes. The secret to our award-winning haggis is meticulous attention to both cooking methods and choice of ingredients.

Try it!
This product is absolutely delicious! Made in USA, all USDA inspected. If you've never tried Haggis, you'll be surprised just how much you like it! For those who have never had haggis before, inagine ground beef with onions and a tiny bit of nutmeg. That's not exactly the way it tastes, but pretty close!
Haggis
If you celebrate the Bard's birthday in January and live where you cannot get fresh local haggis, or just like haggis; this product is a god send. A few minutes in a microwave, it is ready to join the tatties, neeps and roasted beef. Sadly, it is not the same if you want to "pipe in the haggis" and perform the "address", as it does NOT come in a casing. Somehow, carrying a Corningware dish filled with steaming contents (no matter how good) as opposed to a "great sausage" on a silver service would not have the same meaning. On the other hand, I have been able to get folks to try haggis in this format, who would never try the sausage style haggis. Somehow it demystifies it! Go figure...
Okay, so it isn't traditional lamb...
This stuff tastes great. It isn't traditional lamb, but beef-based haggis is still a Scots dish. Try it with diced potatoes and fried eggs. MY PERSONAL FAVE: Nuke a third of a can on a plate till it's HOT... about 1 minute in most microwave ovens... Throw it in your favorite sandwich roll. (My fave is Raley's bakery parmesan sandwich roll... but any fresh sandwich roll will do here.) Drip a little jarred beef gravy on top of that. Not much is needed. Now toss some grated cheese on top. I like a parmesan and cheddar mix. Top the sandwich and put it in the microwave for another minute-- just enough melt the cheese a bit, and to warm the bun and gravy.
Awesome hot sandwich!
