Customer Reviews
Oars are fragile
The raft performed well on river trip with a few Class I (borderline Class II) rapids. There is one major problem. The oars that came with the raft both broke, or rather, the cheap plastic couplings that held them together broke. These oars are not designed for rigorous rowing; not fun when it snaps while trying to line up for a run through the rapids. Fortunately, one of my group had a spare set of oars. If you buy this raft, be prepared to purchase a decent set of oars, but realize that they will have to fit through relatively small oar locks. The hand pump worked well. About 10-15 minutes of steady pumping to fill up the raft. The included duffle bag is also too small. The raft, oars, and pump barely fit shipped from the factory. Good luck trying to get the raft rolled tight enough to get it back in the bag after use. The bag is still useful to hold the pump and the remaining fragments of your broken oars, though.
happy boating
This boat was all I exspected. It was just what I was looking for. I needed a stowable dingy for my power boat, for the times I have to ancore off shore. I bought a MINN KOTA trolling motor for propultion.
best cheap boat ever
It is true that the oar locks are small and should otherwise not be used. This raft is best used by sitting on the sides or back with a T-handle paddle. I have own one for 5 years now and have taken on lakes and class two rivers. Great for fishing with room for gear, if you throw out the inflatable seats. I have even fit the boat into my backpack and hiked 16 miles and put in and floated another 16 miles of class 1 and 2. Bottom line I challenge you to find a tougher boat that can do all this for under 125 dollars.
