The Airstream story is the Wally Byam story, for if his wife, Stella, hadn't "refused to go camping without a kitchen," the world might never have known the aerodynamic silver trailer that screams art moderne. Though a few introductory pages suffice for Byam's personal story, his influence is felt throughout this colorful appreciation of the perfectly retro home-on-wheels, and his innovations are lauded. Littlefield and Brown sought out restored, remodeled, and reconditioned examples of the various models of Airstream that appeared over the years and photographed them and their owners in scenic repose. Two constants are the owners' pride in their trailers and their prizes' shiny silver sheathing (the few departures from silver exteriors are noted in passing). Definitely buy this book!!!
You won't be disappointed! I have been a huge fan of Bruce Littlefield's witty & insightful writing for a long time and couldn't believe my luck when I saw he was the author of this beautiful book. The photographs are accompanied by really interesting stories about what people have done with these cool traveling objects of art. It features trailers from all over the world and gave me great decorating ideas for my own house. This would make a wonderful Christmas gift.

Airstream Living
I am a airstream landyacht owner that uses my airstream for dinner parties. This book shows the many unique uses for the vintage airstream and their many colorful owners who love them. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves vitage americana or has a love for airstreams and other silver trailers! I am now buying this book for friends for Christmas.
