Excellent Book For Teaching
When I began this book, I found it hard to put it down. Not only is it well written, but it speaks of women today with their urban lifestyles and how we put God on the back burner. Once I finished the book, I wished I had read it years ago and made a concrete decision to follow God. It's truly not that hard, but we make it hard when we want to keep one foot in the world and the other in God's footprint. I feel every girl should be made to read this book before she reaches puberty; every young adult female should read this book; and every adult female should read this book. This book should become the handbook for every female ministry in our churches today as a way of teaching our women that they ARE worthy of being Queens and need to keep themselves celibate until they meet their Prince.

The Single Sister Experiment is a mystical look into what would happen if God came in and commissioned all the single woman to remain abstinent until marriage. One day all of the single women were taken away from their lives and challenged to live the Christ-like life. Some were saved and some were not. They could clearly hear the voice of someone who was watching them telling them to do right when they slipped up. The main characters are Joan, Lila, and Tisha. Joan has put her all into loving men. She has given her body to so many that she is ashamed. Once she accepts the challenge, great things begin to happen as she grows closer in her relationship with Christ. She quickly realizes that she has to be a support and example to her two best friends, Lila and Tisha. They have not quite embraced this new lifestyle that God wants for them.

MiMi tells the stories of so many women. Women who sacrificed their bodies for what they thought would be love. Committing to a relationship when they knew that it was not for them. Wearing the facade that everything is alright when deep inside they are searching for more. There were times that I was not sure what was going on or what I was reading. But in the end I realized how powerful this message is.

A Man's Opinion
As a male reader of literature by African American authors I get lots of suggestions from my female friends about what to read next. When this novel was recommended I laughed because I don't know any single women who want to stop having sex. I bought the novel because I like to support black authors and I must admit that I was impressed. The novel grabbed me from the beginning and wouldn't let me go. I read it in one day! The novel is a captivating read and the characters seem like every woman I know. I saw a little of my former self in the male characters as well. If single women want to know how to make a man act right, "The Single Sister Experiment" will reveal the keys to that mystery. In my playa days I would have burned it because this novel makes women smarter but now that I'm married I strongly recommend single, married, and teens to read this action packed, drama filled, emotional roller coaster ride. I hope there is a sequel and ladies you should read and join this experiment.
