Bring your style up to date with the Barcode watch for men by Tokyo Flash. This tech-savvy, "flashionable" watch indicates the time with blue LEDs shining in binary code. Not only does it tell time, it has an entertaining light-up function that starts at 6 p.m. and goes on every minute until 1 a.m. The 29-millimeter stainless steel case and matching bezel house an AM-PM indicator, date-and-date calendar, and light-up function. For long-lasting comfort, the 20-millimeter stainless steel band fastens with a fold-over clasp. This digital-quartz-powered watch is a hip addition to any night on the town, and is backed by a 1-year manufacturer's warranty.

Fun and Easy to Use Watch
When I first came across the Tokyo Flash watch series, I was intrigued by the look and colors of the Barcode model. I spent time reading through the reviews of many of their other watches on Amazon, watched some demonstration videos on Youtube, and debated on whether the watch was either practical or an impulse buy.
Now that I own this particular watch, I can say for the most part that it's a practical buy. What surprised me was how easy it was to set the watch and to read the time, as some reviewers of this model claimed it took them a few days to get the hang of it. The included manual (while written in sometimes choppy English probably translated from Japanese) gives a completely clear breakdown on how to read the different settings and set the time yourself. Five minutes after taking the watch out of the box, I had everything set and was able to understand the display. I ordered the blue LED version, the LEDs look nice under regular lights, and look awesome in a darkened area. I especially like the evening feature that generates a brief different light pattern once a minute.
If there are any drawbacks, it would be in the size and weight. It's not a clunker, but it is a little bit heavier than any other steel watch that I've owned (though I'm a big guy and a fan of watches with some weight to them). The watch face is slightly thicker than I had expected, and a minority of people might even find the size distracting.
Overall, the watch looks as great on my wrist as it does in the pictures provided. Probably not a watch I would wear while playing basketball, but definitely a great watch for going out.
Sets you apart from the rest of the pack
Let me start by saying that this watch is not for everyone. Yes, it is not a normal looking watch and it is not very practical. But, if you are looking for something normal and practical, Tokyo flash is not where you are going to find it.
This watch is meant to be worn on special occasions, like at a nightclub or at a night out with friends. It is very well made for a watch at this price. The steel is solid. Set up was a breeze. Took about 5 minutes tops. It is easy to read the time once you get the hang of things.
In daytime, the Blue LED's are bright enough to be read. At night, there is random flashing of lights every minute. This can be bothersome if you are in a public place like a movie theater.
I get compliments on it all the time. Oh my gosh, is that a watch? is the commenest one, followed by how do you tell the time? If you don't like attention or being stared at, this is not for you. Personally, I like things that stand out and are different from what everybody else's got. If that is what you are looking for, you can't go wrong with this watch.
I'm already thinking about buying another tokyo Flash watch. Everytime I weare this watch, it puts a nine smile on my face.
Amazing.
Althought it took a couple days to get used to being able to read it, and the face is a little thicker than I thought it was, this watch still deserves 5 stars.
Let's face it... clock hands are so 1380s.
