From the Back Cover
Is your church meeting the needs of single adults? Although 44 percent of all adults are unmarried, most churches are focused on marriage and families. As a result, they miss many opportunities to reach out--as well as to benefit from the abilities and resources singles have to offer the church. Dennis Franck, who has been working in single adult ministry for over twenty-five years, now offers you an up-to-date, comprehensive handbook on reaching out to single adults of all ages and life experiences. You'll find in-depth guidance on all aspects of single adult ministry, including: • understanding single adults' diverse life situations and needs • developing a biblical philosophy of ministry • the practical aspects of building a single adult ministry Whether you're a pastor or a lay church leader, this handbook offers you everything you need to help guide your ministry to, for, and through single adults. "Reaching Single Adults is an important book that needs to be read by every pastor and Christian educator, as well as by every parent of a single adult who is concerned by the marginalization of the unmarried in the body of Christ. Dennis Franck does not just rehearse the problem or lambaste church leaders. He passionately offers solid, seasoned guidance on how to reach America's greatest mission field. Only a leader long in this field could have written such a resource for effective ministry."--Harold Ivan Smith, speaker and author "Dennis Franck uses his years of experience to lay a firm foundation for a local church to begin ministry to the single adults in its community. Readers will gain a wealth of information based on Franck's research as well as his practical experience. With the increasing single adult population and the seemingly decreasing attention given by churches to single adults, Reaching Single Adults is a must-read for church leaders."--Linda G. Hardin, general coordinator, single adult ministries, Church of the Nazarene

Great Guide for Getting Started4
I read this book as I was interviewing to take the position that I now have as a full time singles minister. It is an intimidating task to build a ministry from the ground up, but Dennis Franck's wisdom and experience made it much less so. Franck outlines the different life situations that are represented by people in a singles ministry, some useful methods in meeting the spiritual needs of those people, and some mistakes to avoid.

If I were going to find any weakness in the book it would be that it is not as focused as I wish it were on the Scriptural truths behind the methods. It also encourages singles leaders to teach topically, whereas my personal teaching philosophy is more on the biblical/expository end of the spectrum.

Given those issues, this is still a great book. I got to spend some time with the author at a conference not long ago, and I could tell that what he wrote flowed out of his genuine heart for singles and not out of a desire just to write a book. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who, like me, is getting started in singles ministry and looking for wisdom to make it effective.

Great guide for the pastor/preacher3
I started a Single Adults ministry in our church. This book was one that I used during my research before starting the group. Excellent topic for today's changing world.
