About WebkinzPets Webkinzs from GANZ are a cuddly collection of very special plush pets. Friendly and loveable, each one carries a secret code, an invitation to a virtual world of fun and adventure at www.webkinz.com. More and more, kids are going to the Internet. They can play games, chat with friends and express themselves. They decide how to have fun. Our challenge was to combine play value with the interactivity of the Internet. We started with a line of adorable plush toys that we called Webkinz. We then gave them a secret code to unlock a website that would transform the plush toy into an online pet. Kids get a biography that tells them all about their Webkinzpet, and are given an adoption certificate. Kids see that their care and nurturing will ensure the happiness and health of their Webkinzpet. Fun games and trivia quizzes enable pet owners to earn Kinzcash™ and build their very own virtual house, complete with uniquely designed rooms. The site is carefully designed to prevent kids from revealing personal information. With the secretcode as their key, kids can hang out in WebkinzWorld without giving out any personal information such as their e-mail, last name or phone number.
