G'day Peter, Upon discovering your book "You can be a wedding MC" I have to admit, after an already stressful day making wedding cakes, this pre-prepared speech (along with templates) made everything seem like clockwork. I have been in the wedding industry for 17 years and specialise in modern (mainly chocolate) wedding cakes and pride myself with the reputation I have within the bridal industry and local resorts. To cut a long story short my younger brother got married yesterday and I was cake maker and MC at one of my most popular resorts - 'The Bonville International Golf Club'. This was make or break time, I was confident the cake would be a success with years of experience but the MC bit was totally new to me and with all the staff knowing who I was, along with family and friends expecting (or at least hoping) for something fresh and creative to match the style of the cake AND especially our bride & groom the pressure was on... I was tired, a tad nervous but confident with my preparation all thanks to this awesome book. As it turned out, everything ran so smoothly simply because of your templates and the easy, straight forward layout. I printed the templates on decorated paper and presented the folder (at the end of the night) as a keepsake for the Bride & Groom and, in turn hoped it to add to the professionalism by 'me' as the MC. Hi Peter A few weeks ago my girlfriends friends asked me to be their wedding MC. I had never been the MC of a wedding before. My only involvement in weddings until now has been as a professional wedding photographer. Whilst I know what the agenda is at a wedding reception it s obviously very different to be instigating that agenda. After reading your book How to be a wedding MC I was surprised at how much was involved in doing a proper job as a wedding MC. Peter, Thankyou for your assistance. I was MC at my friends wedding on the weekend and it all went off nicely. Although I have MC'd quite a few functions over the years, I hadn't done a wedding. About the Author
Pete Miller graduated as an actor in 1986 from the 3 year fulltime Diploma of Drama course held at the Drama Studio, Sydney.

He was a featured actor on many television shows such as A Country Practise and singer in large-scale musicals such as South Pacific that toured the world.

Before he became full-time professional corporate MC, he worked for many years as a compere for the worlds largest retail chains, Westfield.

After winning the prestigious "MC of the Year" prize from the Australian Bridal Industry Awards, Pete was asked to supply 1st class wedding MCs for top ranking hotels and venues.

This book grew out of the need to train and attain a very high level of skill with the MCs that were booked through A WEDDING MC HOTLINE

While still acting, Peter found that his skills were helpful to others outside the sphere of drama. He began teaching presentation techniques to executives who had been cast in their companys corporate videos or required to speak at the industry conference.

Today he coaches and writes about public speaking while still performing as a corporate Master of Ceremonies, compere, and presenter. He is the author of UP FRONT IN CONTROL, 5 EASY STEPS TO A FANTASTIC VOICE, and INSTANT MC.

Great Tips
I found this book very useful when it came to ideas on making a wedding reception interesting. There are lots of tips; jokes, games, and general advice including sample speeches that can make the reception a memorable event. Some people often forget that the reception is the Bride and Grooms special day. The reception is the key part of the day where everything must go well to make it memorable to the couple that got married. I wouldn't want to be responsible for ruining an important event like that which is why this book is excellent in terms of making it run smoothly.

Really Helpful
This book was just what the doctor ordered. I was thrown into a situation I knew nothing about but thankfully Peter Miller did. I was guided through all my duties and responsibilities as a wedding MC but not only was I given a guideline - the book actually tells you what to say and when. It is a good piece of work and I would recommend it to anybody looking for spice to add to their role as a Wedding MC. I used the "Keys" as my audience participation bit and it had everybody roaring with laughter. Thumbs up to Peter.

A very good help for a first-time MC
This book was exeptionally helpful in guiding me, someone who has never MC-ed before, to thinking about what my role is, what I need to find out, and what is important in a good wedding reception. I can only thanks Pete Miller for making my friends' reception a great night -- many people told me I did a good job which was some relief.

I did not use the jokes or games...did not see the point, but it may be useful if the bride and groom want something similar.
