Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal
PreSchool-Grade 1 The original ``Spot'' book is now offered with a Signed English translation. The text and illustrations are identical to the original, with the addition of line drawings showing the American Signed English hand move ments. Signing is simply and accurately illustrated. It is easy to distinguish the placement of the hands in each sign. Dotted lines show the beginning place ment of the hands, arrows point the di rection to follow, and a solid black line indicates the final position of the hands. These drawings are placed close enough to relate each sign to the appro priate word but do not distract from the story or other illustrations. The simple story and the hide-and-seek game as pect of this book make it ideal for sign language translation, as it allows chil dren to become involved in the signing. All children will be able to learn how to sign the story. Susan Nemeth McCar thy, Arlington County Pub . Lib . , Va.

Customer Reviews

A parent from Massachusetts4
Our 1-1/2 yr. old son laughs in delight as each flap is opened. We shout the words together as he identifies each hidden animal. It amazed us the first night when he wanted to read the book again and again. Where's Spot has turned into a sharing and learning experience between us and our child.

Spot Rules!5
This is a great book for preschoolers. My son, who's 3, loves lifting the flaps and knows most of the books by heart. The bright colors and simple language keep younger children interested to the very end. I highly recommend this and all of Eric Hill's other Spot books!

too small2
I didn't realize this was miniature edition. It is too smalland the flaps are too flimsy. ... I still would like a largeredition.
