Amazon.com Product Description
Bring some big-screen sound to your living room with the Yamaha DTX-5000 Home Theater in a Box. Everything you need is here, a six-channel speaker package, a powered subwoofer, a DVD changer, and a 6.1 channel home theater receiver. 760 Watts of total system power, combined with Yamaha exclusive technologies make for a system that will have you feeling every moment of your entertainment.

Speakers
The DTX-5000's stylish satellite speakers are designed to accentuate every voice, and every bit of action in your DVD movies or television shows. The six-channel system consists of two main speakers, three surround speakers, and an all-important center channel speaker for getting crisp, clear voice tracks. Each speaker features a two-way acoustic suspension, and magnetically shielded drivers. Dual 2.5-inch woofers and .5-inch tweeters are built into each speaker cabinet, offering 90Hz to 50kHz frequency range. The two main speakers come with a floor stand, while the center channel and surround speakers can be set up with optional table-top stands or additional floor stands.

Subwoofer
Yamaha's Expanded Bass Response system is built into the DTX-5000's powered subwoofer, bringing rich and thunderous lows to action-packed films. The high power, 130-Watt sub also features Advanced Yamaha Servo Technology (YST), which precisely governs the motion of the eight-inch driver and ensures tight, responsive performance. It also helps generate maximum output from a relatively small speaker enclosure. Frequency response is rated from 28Hz to 200Hz.

DVD Changer
The DV-S5770 DVD changer that comes bundled with the DTX-5000 features Faroudja DCDi processing, which dynamically de-interlaces NTSC video signals, giving your videos a smoother, more film-like look. Pop in five of your favorite CDs, Super Audio CDs, VCDs, or DVDs and get hours of uninterrupted enjoyment of video or audio. A rotating carousel design makes it easy to manage your discs, while Yamaha Play Exchange Technology lets you insert a new disc while another is still playing. The player also supports DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R and DVD-RW media, as well as CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3-CD media, so your personal audio and video libraries are fully compatible. Plus, you'll get the most out of your DVD movies with progressive scan playback, which displays movies with maximum clarity.

A/V Receiver
At the heart of the DTX-3000 system is the 6.1 channel HTR-5750 A/V Home Theater Receiver. All the muscle you need is here as the unit is equipped with high power discrete amplification that delivers 105 Watts to each of six channels. The unit has plenty of brains, too, offering a 192kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC). Yamaha's 32-bit Cinema-DSP processing makes the sound from movies (and music, too) thrilling and realistic. The system provides 29 Cinema-DSP surround modes so you can shape the sound from your CDs and DVDs to suit the genre of your entertainment. When combined with advanced surround sound decoding, including DTS-ES Discrete, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby ProLogic IIx, you've got a system that can make your home theater come alive.

The receiver includes four digital inputs (three optical and one coaxial). Two component video inputs, three S-video inputs and one S-video output are also included. For temporary connections, the HTR-5750 includes a set of front panel A/V inputs, as well. There's also a Silent Cinema mode that lets you enjoy private listening of 6.1 channel surround sound with ordinary headphones.

WRONG PRODUCT DESCRIPTION4
The DVD Player IS NOT a Changer but a Single Player !!!!

Great systems, but NOT WITH A 50% SHIPPING SURCHARGE1
Yamaha systems have consistently led the Consumer Reports ratings for "home theater in a box" systems. But you must note that ordering this from Target results in a $242 shipping charge (check out verified 1-18-2007) ... that's roughly 48% of the cost of the system. Ridiculous, it then costs more than you'd pay locally. Inexcusable. Don't do it until Amazon/Target find a new pricing model.
