Ultimate Weight Loss Power Pack is a worthy addition I think for most anyone's library. Below are pros and cons to the system in my opinion for those considering purchasing.
PROS: There is no doubt that Victoria Wizell is a Master Hypnotherapist. She presents herself professionally and her voice is very pleasant to listen to. You will likely feel instantly you have that weight loss buddy you've always wanted right by your side. Her hypnosis techniques/visualizations are so extremely pleasurable and vivid for me that I'd give her technique five stars. I can tell you that most of these cds work as I would find myself, after listening to "Hunger Scale," asking myself, just as she had told me to, "What do I really want?" and questioning whether I was really hungry. This is great because I think most people today eat on the run and don't always check to see if they are really hungry. Food is always available so it is a great habit to get into waiting until you are hungry but not starving before you eat. Also, I must thank Ms. Wizell because when I first started this program it was difficult for me to lay still and relax and clear my mind of things I needed to do and just focus on my time. I have become a more relaxed, focused and balanced person listening to her guided relaxation/beautiful and powerful visualization techniques to entering hypnotic trance.
CONS: I feel that for me, the system is too long. Twelve thirty-minute sessions that I listen to for one entire week each? What if I'd spent that amount of time exercising? Would I have had better results? I have wondered that. I did complete, as directed, the entire system, listening to each cd for one week and am now, for over four weeks relistening to the ones I feel I need some extra help on. So I'll likely eventually get the results I want. Also I feel I should share one of my biggest disappointments. We are asked to set a goal at the beginning around the same time we do our affirmation poster (which was very fun and helpful by the way) but the goal that we set isn't brought up by Ms. Wizell except that one time! So if you, like me, forget that you set a goal, you aren't as likely to achieve it. I feel that I would have achieved my goal IF Ms. Wizell would have reminded me at some point of Every hypnosis session, with a word of encouragement such as, "Go for it!" But my biggest complaint is the twelfth and final cd which I was hoping would be all I would ever need to listen to again being a cumulative cd of all the weeks I'd spent. It is a review of all the others but in a vague way so it isn't as helpful as I'd hoped.
FINAL:
All in all, UWLPP is a great investment to own and listen to regularly throughout your life to keep your mind in tune with your body's needs of: eating healthy and only when you are moderately hungry (not starved) and stopping before you are stuffed; enjoying exercise, drinking water regularly throughout your day, using the swish technique to replace bad habits with healthy new ones and many more useful techniques to achieve your weight loss goals. Good luck, everyone! I believe consistency is the key. Focus on the positive healthy things you can do for your body every day and not just the scale. By making your healthy habits a lifestyle change, the pounds will drop off naturally.

Resourceful help for habit modification & remedy for anxiety
I would like to give this invaluable product "five stars", but I have some reservation on the issue of changing cellular metabolism through subconscious power. I am also doubtful of the first reviewer's claim of losing 15 pounds, halfway through the program. That sounds like an exaggeration. I also agree with most of the second reviewer's comments, particularly, that the voice on the seven CD's is restful, peaceful, and beautiful. This is a bona fide proof that the author of the CD's has benefited from her own art in mastering her speech's ability, in consistent and appealing manner. I might add to his list of minor baubles, the pronunciation of the words, "exercise" and "extra", as "ekshersize" and "ekshtra".
I first listened to the seven tapes while driving, just to explore their content. I then listened to them during the fasting month for Muslims, while on brutal 16 hours a day of fasting regime, for a whole month. I am now convinced that I can give up on all radio and TV talks and live in that colorful, calm, and peaceful world, which Ms. Wizell describes in her 7-CD's. Indeed, it is hard to put them down. I can relate to her approach, of toggling on and off, few switches in the subconscious mind as a way of changing habits. Her described rituals of suppressing physical stresses, in order to access our hidden mental powers, are as old as the beginning of the human race.
If you are skeptical of holistic professionals, rest in peace. Ms. Wisell flatly eliminates the myth about hypnotherapy. She will not con you into a brain surgery or invade your inner secrets under the disguise of a magical power. You must be "ready, open, and willing" to commit to "heightened suggestibility" in order to suppress all physical distractions and access the immense power of your subconscious mind. Her job is guiding you into a "trance state" through a technique of progressive muscular relaxation. Once there, in trance state, she teaches you how to scan your subconscious mind for negative core beliefs in order the re-program your subconscious with positive ones, hence modify your habits.
That process of mind scanning is complemented with a process of regressive recall, in which you tap into your past experience in order to define a new "scale for hunger". Here you will learn how to curtail your behavior and master your own destiny through setting "smart goals". You learn this best reality-test from the seven CDs. She describes smart goals as specific, measurable, attainable, risk-free, and timed purposes. Embedding this "new wisdom" into your subconscious will alter your life in a positive way.
The method of inducing a state of trance, described in these CDs is ideal for all fields of life that confront anxiety and stress, not only weight-loss. My main resentment is on the issue of flushing impurities with water. Cellulite is not flushable with water and the term "impurities" is vague and seldom used by those educated in biology. The main function of water is maintaining bio-chemical balance of living organisms. The author's advice to drink "many, many, many cups of water a day" is an exaggeration. You cannot drink more than you need and if you drink more, you would not lose weight. However, enhancing self-esteem, through hypnotherapy, might reduce apprehension from exercise and ease one's mind to commit to change, in calm and peaceful manner. The fact that, increasing oxygen intake causes meltdown of fat is a very reliable rule and is well emphasized on the last CD of this pack. In scientific words, it means promoting aerobic energy expenditure that is essential to fat metabolism. This fact is always blurred in many literatures on health and fitness.
Excellent program for permanent weight change!
Even though you know what to eat, know you should exercise and know you should incorporate other healthy habits in your day to day life, the mental game of weight loss is often the most difficult.
This is where hypnosis can be very beneficial. By speaking to your subconscious mind you can make weight loss much easier. You can learn to WANT to eat right. WANT to exercise. WANT to drink more water etc. Instead of fighting desires for processed foods and to swill soda or to retire in front of the TV, you can easily learn to desire healthier choices. To this end master hypnotist Victoria Wizell has created the "Ultimate Weight Loss Power Pack".
The "Ultimate Weight Loss Power Pack" is a 7 CD set, that comes packaged in a tidy, compact 7 and 1/2" by 2" case. The CD's walk you through 12 weeks of change. You will learn how to hypnotize yourself using several different techniques including progressive relaxation and my favorite, stepping down the stairs into a sea of clouds. At the beginning of the program Victoria will help you set goals. Then each week you will learn how to accomplish these goals by overcoming the internal programming that has been holding you back and by learning new habits.
One week your focus may be learning to detect physical versus pschological hunger. Other sessions include turning up your metabolism, healthy eating, exercising, reshaping your body, drinking water and more. My favorite session was "accessing the cause". After completing this CD, I was surprised to find a far greater understanding of why I had put on extra pounds to begin with - the reason was not what I had always thought it was!
When you have completed the CD's Victoria has included a maintenance session. You can also go back to certain areas that need more work, and use the program to truly focus on a specific area. I for example, am a regular exerciser so do not feel the need to put a lot of time into that CD but despite the exercise feel that my metabolism is somewhat sluggish, so I am spending more time with the "turn up your metabolism" CD.
Over the years I have listened to a number of hypnotic tapes, including weight loss ones. Of the tapes I have listened too, Victoria's are without a doubt the finest and most effective available. To begin with she has a very melodious, soothing voice. It's restful and very peaceful. You enjoy listening to it. With other tapes the speakers often sound rushed, or have a raspy or unpleasant voice. Victoria's voice sets you at ease. It's very beautiful. The content of her program is excellent and because of the way it is written, it will work regardless of what eating style you choose to do with it!
This program has a few minor baubles - at the beginning she has you write down limiting and positive beliefs and its a bit confusing when to do what. She also refers to the program as a 12 month instead of 12 week one in the maintenance section, but these are very minor issues.
The core of the program is indepth work into changing your inner self so you can finally release the weight forever!
This is an intense program. For maximum results you wlll want to work with it every day. If you are only 5 or 10 pounds overweight you may want to try one of Victoria's other CD's. But if you need to lose more or seem to lose and regain the same 5 or 10 pounds over and over, then you may want to really get to the root of the problem and complete the "Power Pack".
Excess weight is a complex issue, one that goes far beyond knowing the right things to eat and the right way to workout. For lasting results, you must make inner changes and this program, the "Ultimate Weight-Loss Power Pack" will help you do exactly that!
