Won't leave the house without it!5
I've been using this texture balm for three years now and I've got to say that it's the most essential part of my morning ritual. After my hair is dry, I rub my hand over the top of the texture balm stick to get a thin coating of balm on my hand. Then I briskly rub both hands together to get the balm soft and then I scrunch it throughout my hair. Be careful not to use too much because it will make your hair look greasy. I've also noticed that the Wen shampoo, although awesome and wonderful, doesn't completely clean off all the texture balm. I usually have to use a squirt of my husbands 2 in 1 whatever shampoo to get all that balm out of my hair. However, there's no other product out there that I've ever found that makes my curls look better. (I have naturally curly, dirty-blonde, shoulder-length hair.) My hair runs on the dry side, so I don't know how this would work with those out there with greasy or fine hair. My hair is very curly and dry, although somewhat fine. I love this product and I'm totally hooked even though it's pretty pricey.

Meh, an ok pomade; there's better out there.3
It's hard finding a good pomade for African American hair, and while this balm will mostly keep your hair in one place, it gums up and is hard to remove later. Because it gums up, throughout the day, it would look like I had little white balls in my hair. I hate that! Then, I would have to use even more of the Wen Conditioning Cleanser to get it out. Frustrating!

I used it after I used the cleansing conditioner and oil, but I would rather use my grandma's tried and true pomade than the balm.

If your hair is thick, product helps with volume, but if you have fine hair, then it ends up flat and greasy. buyer beware. know your hair type.
