A CB radio is pretty much all you can buy from Amazon.com, but it still offers a bit more range than a GMRS radio, and may allow international communication during peak sunspot activity.

Midland GMRS radios tend to be of use only in a small area, especially in urban or hilly terrain. However, since most civilans don't own a CB or HAM radio, this is one of your best chances at contact with survivors without endangering them. Toss out the rechargable battery pack and use with any AA batteries, preferably Lithium.

A flare gun is very useful to signal others where your location is, as well as an instant illumination source in a pinch. Another use could be to ignite a flammable material from afar. If nothing else, it can be used as a last-resort weapon, though the ammunition is both expensive and cumbersome. Comes with 3 red flares and a 6-flare holder.

Used in the Ebola Reston action, this suit provides protection against chemical weapons. Be aware that this suit does not protect completely against exposure such as airborne viruses, but will protect against infected fluids, bacterial/chemical threats, and a limited amount of radiation.

Extra filters for the NanoMask. They may not offer you a significant amount of help, since the plastic, sterile, and cumbersome packaging is required for the masks to work at all.

Good tactical gloves can improve your shot considerably, and stops hands from becoming fatigued from gripping a weapon. These gloves are also fingerless, so you don't lose sensitivity with your hands, like when needed using the carabiner descent method.

For close-quarters fighting and general use, a KA-BAR knife is the best option. Not only is it standard issue for the USMC, but the knife is also known for its quality high-carbon steel. It can also be used as a bayonet by butting the guard against the bayonet lug of a rifle. It should be compatible with the M1 Garand rifle's bayonet lug.

Reloads for the TASER C2. These can be easily carried using the bandolier's MOLLE straps. Note that these are single use; after you discharge into your target for desired effect, eject the cartridge, and then decide whether you'll need it up close(leave the C2 unloaded and directly apply to target) or at a distance(load another cartrige into the C2).

Even though the 9mm Luger/Parabellum round is used in more weapons, the .40 S&W is still one of the most popular handgun cartridges in the world. This round's Silvertip hollow-point is specially designed for maximum energy transfer, and the bullet's weight is ideal for the powder load.

Tracer rounds contain a small pyrotechnic charge that ignites while traveling to the target. You can use these bullets to ignite highly-flammable materials from a distance, but in a way safer than using the flare gun. They can also be used as signals, since they leave a very visible smoke trail. They can be used in any 5.56mm NATO or .223 Rem chambered rifle.

For hunting and long-range defense, the .30-06 Springfield cartridge is powerful enough to take game up to and possibly including bears. The Silvertip design transfers the most energy to the target; the 9mm/.40 S&W Silvertip rounds are widely used by law enforcement for the same reason.

While a .357 Magnum revolver can be extremely useful in an emergency situation, it also tends to be implausible for long-distance carry, since it is rather large and the ammunition cumbersome. A Springfield Armory XD chambered in .357 SIG provides the same power as a light .357 Magnum cartridge, but in a semi-automatic package, allowing you to get more shots out of one loadout.

Special 12 Gauge shotshells that are double sealed against water damage. Preferably used in a Remington 870 tactical.

To facilitate close-quarters use of a shotgun, attach a folding stock to both reduce overall length and enable the shotgun to collapse into an even smaller length when assailants get truely in your face. Buy a shotshell holder as well, to make it possible to reload quickly when the stock is folded.

A sturdy shoulder holster is valuable when you have to move in a hurry, and can't worry about your sidearm clattering to the floor. If you're going to buy a Springfield XD, put it in this; you don't want to lose it.

To be able to carry extra items, you need a Quick-Release belt to attach them to. Clip or otherwise put items on the belt, and use the belt keepers to anchor the belt to your trouser belt/pants band. This belt also holds two pistol magazines for emergency use (they are secured by a clip-and-snap mechanism, which slows release of the magazines).

For extended firing, hang this rifle magazine pouch off the back of your quick-release belt. It holds a maximum of six standard STANAG-compatible 30 round magazines, or twelve STANAG-compatible 10 round magazines.

A carbiner is your best chance at descent without using the stairs or a ladder. You'd need two carabiners, and a high-tensile rope. Put one carabiner somewhere so that it acts as a pulley. Attach the other carabiner onto your LE belt, and use a Munter hitch on the anchored carabiner. Secure one end of the rope onto a point like an outward-opening door handle and loop the other to your carbiner.
