Excellent compilation of stories
This book was first published in 1916 and had been out of print until Forbidden Books reprinted it. It was compiled through field work by anthropologists so there are not a lot of, if any at all, embellishments to the stories - which is a good thing. Being schooled in the Philippines, I already knew a few of the stories in this compilation but many are quite new, especially the tribal ones with no foreign influence. Anyone interested in Filipino literature and history should have a copy of this book.
A copy of this book is also freely available via Google Books (digitized copy) but Forbidden Books have done a great job in re-printing this book so I definitely recommend buying the physical book. Its no classic but still, 4-stars for the re-printing job and the contents of the book itself.
