Hiking Mt. Whitney, the Sierra Nevada and Western Peaks
Welcome to the Mt. Whitney Shop at Amazon.com, inspired by the highest mountain in the continental United States, at 14,496 feet.

Mt. Whitney is one of the most popular wilderness destinations in the country. There are several routes up Mt. Whitney, the most popular of which is the Mt. Whitney Trail. When it is free of snow, the trail is suitable for less experienced hikers. In 2006, significant snowfields were present well into July and early October storms marked the end of clear trail conditions for the fall. To hike Mt. Whitney, you must first obtain a permit (see "Permits & Information").
