Simply the most entertaining characters I've seen on British TV are the exploits of shady car salesman Arthur Daley, brilliantly portayed by George Cole, and ex-con, ex-boxer Terry McCann (Dennis Waterman). Terry is Arthur's bodyguard, or minder, and the sticky situations they get themselves in and out of are legendary.
